Inferior resin is turbid, high viscosity, high heat release, high shrinkage, relatively slow curing, and poor compatibility. The produced FRP grating is porous, easy to break, and poor in strength. In the FRP grating, it is the FRP fiber that can enhance the toughness of the grating. High-quality fiberglass fiber filaments such as alkali-free fiberglass filaments have higher strength than steel wires, have certain toughness, chemical stability, good weather resistance, hardly absorb water and do not burn in case of fire. Their high strength can also be used as tire cords.
The filler of the FRP grating is calcium powder or aluminum powder. The high-quality filler powder is fine and white, has flame retardancy, and is completely integrated with the resin. The produced board has beautiful color, good transparency and high toughness. On the contrary, the poor-quality filler powder is rough and dull, not flame-retardant, and the board produced has no gloss, is brittle and has no toughness.
